Computer-y Things!

Email Me Biff on Twitter -
Ha HA! I've been spending time figuring out some computer stuff lately.

My current rig - Frankenstein ('cause it makes monsters) - is sitting at the fine old age of about 4 years old. I was noticing some less-than-awesome issues with programs stopping or taking far longer than they used to. Age does that, ya' know? So I've spent the past week looking for new stuff to get along the way and slowly but surely make good on my original task for this box: Slowly update it until it's pretty much all new parts.

What I've been looking into is ultimately replacing this with a hybrid workstation build. It'd be a (probably used) workstation base - something like a dual Xeon board - with a halfway decent graphics card. Props to my friends and other knowledgeable folks as they helped me not buy a very cheap card that's pretty much at the end of its life. It was good when good ol' Frankie here was first built... not so much now. = )

Truth be told, the issues were not enough to really spark this. Destiny 2 coming to the PC was what really did the trick. I'd like to run at some point so I could Possibly play it with my PC friends.

Now I'm off to get some more stuff done. I've got some ads to update and some site stuff to poke around in. Still want to update this page and my personal site so they're leaner, meaner and less laggy where I can help it.

If you're down for helping me build a better rig, there's my Patreon (which nets you neat stuff) and my Donation button (which I have new stuff to add to) and just going through the Biff shop and snagging a book or some gear. A better system means I can do more art vids and possibly even toss a bit of that cash at fixing up the House of Amill's 'Net connection. Slowly but surely, I will fix All the Things!!

'Till next time! = )
