Podcasts a-Plenty!

In my continuing effort to stay sane and focused while working, I have turned to the podcasts I love so much to replace the drone of my TV in the late night/early morning hours. You can barely hear them in the background.

For the curious, here's a quick list of what I'm listening to:

  • The Nerdist Podcast - The Man, the Myth, the comedian Chris Hardwick and his friends interview various comics and famous folks. It's neat and worth a listen.
  • FourCast Podcast - Scott Johnson, Tom Merritt and guests lay down short term/long term/crazy predictions of the future. It's actually really crazy and fun to listen to.
  • Freakonomics Radio - Hosted by Stephen J. Dubner and co-author of the books Freakonomics and SuperFreakonomics. Freakonomics Radio, like the books, continues to look at real-world topics using the tools of economics to tell some interesting and often surprisingly great stories. Bonus - You don't need a dictionary or an economics degree to follow it!
  • The Webcomic Beacon - Fes and the crew are switching things up a bit with brand new segments called Extended Play and Newscast. Always interesting and worth it for the conversations.
  • Webcomics Weekly - It friggin' back, baby! 'Nuff said. = D

Know that these may or may not be riddled with adult language and subjects. If you find swearing or adult conversations offensive... you may want to listen to all but maybe the Nerdist podcast and some episodes of the Beacon. The rest are pretty clean and good to go. = )

It's a Bacon Suit!

As you may have heard, the trailer for the Green Lantern flick is finally out. You can catch it here. -> [LinkTastic!]

I'm a GL fan but I'm not going to play like that trailer is perfect. The movie should feel like Top Gun meets Star Wars. At the very least, it should be the comic equivalent of the Last Star Fighter.

After watching that trailer, it feels like it could go south really quick. -.-

Keep in mind that this isn't the "Comic Book Fan" side of me talking, either. That part of my is only really confused by the Bacon Suit/Visible Hal costume design. It's distracting. This is the "Guy who likes Movies" side of my talking. I really want this to rock because I know it can. I'm kinda' sick of promising superhero films gone terribly wrong.

That's my two cents. Back to work!
