Missed Connections...

Email Me Prophet on Twitter Prophet on Bluesky -
Like I mentioned a few updates back, I'm trying to stream more often.

The last few nights have been... pretty terrible for my broadcasts and I have no Earthly idea why.

At first, I thought it was my 'Net Connection. It has, in the past, been the source of 99% of all of my streaming issues. This last week has been rough with it dropping out entirely for good chunks of time. That's something that's out of my hands but that wasn't the case for last night and earlier tonight (before the posting of this). It was pretty solid.

The other issue is resources. In my case, limited resources. Last night was one of those "Update ALL The Things NOW!" moments where my system decided my usual Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning update schedule wasn't enough and everything was vying for resources to download and install all at once. Tonight was something else entirely that I honestly don't know what it could've been. o.O

Something was pegging out my CPU despite background programs being paused or killed before I started streaming. XSplit has a monitor that tells you how much damage it's doing to both the CPU and GPU as well as an overall system status. It remained at under 20% on both for the bulk of my broadcasts. It was the overall CPU percentage that worried me. It would flutter from 50% (a normal high load) all the way up to a full load with no provocation. Nothing else was running, nothing was updating, no other programs that I could find were pushing data while I was working.

Note: This is me filming inking on paper. I wasn't doing any digital stuff tonight.

So I guess I have that bit of fun to look into. The next strip is a double and the strip that just went up is the end of the buffer. I Wanted to spend quality time rocking out on that but my system has other plans, I suppose. -.-

At least I'm getting to draw another thing I've wanted to draw this entire story bit and I'm pumped to get back to it again.

To my US-based folks: Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. To my non-US-based folks: Have a safe and happy weekend.

'Till next time! = )
