- Yes, I needed a bit of a break.

- Yes, I wanted to clear some pics from my Unfinished Pics backlog.

- Yes, I absolutely needed to get some scripts written.

- Yes, I really had to put effort into building that finished strip buffer.

You know what else I needed that I didn't count on?

A deadline to help me focus on stuff. o.o

So, despite my wanting to start back up again once this next story bit was completely finished and ready to post, I'm going to start back up on Sunday at the usual Silly Vamp Time.

It's October and I'm pretty sure I'm honor bound to post monsterfolk comics during this - the Spookiest of Months. At the rate I was going, I'd be ready to start posting around mid-November and folks... I ain't missing out on posting comics in October 'cause I want to have an extra large strip buffer.

As fun as waiting is, I'm impatient! It's why I post WiP's of whatever I'm working on at the crack of dawn over on my Instagram. Could I hold off a little longer? Sure, I guess but what's the fun in that. o.O

Anyhoo! Expect a brand new Biff strip (And the start of a whole new Story Bit) this Sunday. Now I get to go back to drawing on stuff I don't normally draw!

SO! Here is our story so far...

- Next strip is done. = )

Figured I start with the good news that directly concerns stuff here. I just put the last bit of polish on the first new strip of the next story bit. As I mentioned before, I want to get the whole story bit done first before I start dropping updates again. Building that buffer and whatnot. It is good news though as - now that I'm back into the swing of things - it means I'm back in that production mindset.

I don't want to put a hard date for when things will start popping up again just yet but I will have some info on that sooner rather than later.

You may be wondering why haven't I finished anything else up yet? Well... I've been picking at a few of them at the same time while doing other things. I do have the WiP's posted up to my Instagram page. On the block are both the Mouse Girl pics I've been picking at for a while and the Alien Girl pic I started earlier in July.

The goal for tonight is to actually pick one of those projects and finish it before I start in on the next strip. The advantage of taking this time away from the deadline is getting to make that choice instead of having more half done files with no finish date in sight.

That and maybe getting some things done before the Holiday season is upon us once more so I have a few new things to harass--er... "Persuade" folks to buy. = )

And with that, I'm out. Time to grab my soda out the fridge & roll a die to figure out which of these three pics gets worked on tonight.

So what's on my plate? Well... I literally just finished up the digi-inks on a new piece. It's the "Ghost Ship" piece shown here. -> [IG Linkage]

Unlike my recent Alien Girl piece, I decided I wanted this one done Now. So I tossed it into Illustrator, broke out my disturbing fast mouse handling skills and got it done (and recorded) in under two hours of the the course of two nights... which sounds Way more impressive until you realize it's really just the inks and some text. I haven't done any of the other fun stuff yet. = )

I still need to go out and take some reference photos for the strip. The plan was to do that earlier today (read: Saturday) but I kinda' spaced out with a cup of coffee after I woke up and hit that lovely point of "It's the weekend and I should just chill" - a point I haven't really hit for a few weeks. So now the plan has shifted a day and my Sunday will (Hopefully!) see me acting like a tourist in my own backyard - a thing I haven't really done since before I started the strip.

I'll drop in here from time to time to give updates so no worries on that front. If you really want to see the goings on or just catch the pencils as I finish them, you can follow the Patreon or my Instagram account. I do little "Proof of Life" posts so folks there remember I do, in fact, still draw my silly vampire and his friends every so often. = P

Now I'm off the stretch a bit and enjoy the rest of my soda. Maybe even find a tune for the inevitable timelapse on this current piece.
