Before I get too deep into things (since it is technically Sunday when this post drops):

- RedBubble has a code that seems to be relatively stable for the moment. Use 'CYBERDEALS' for 25-60% off items throughout what's left of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. As always, check first before you go in hot and start ordering all the things. I ended up getting both a purple 'Dame Grape Goyle' classic t-shirt and a big ol' 'Better Living through Necromancy' sticker for my laptop. You can find the store here. -> [Merch LinkTastic!]

- You have less than two days left to take advantage of the sales at DriveThru Comics and their sister sites. I absolutely recommend doing so and scooping plenty of digital comics (and RPG stuff, too). You can find the House of Amill and all the other comic folks in on the fun here. -> [Comic LinkTastic!]

Now... on with the show! = D

- -- - -- ~ -- - -- -

I have spent the last few nights making a skin of Fred's Non-Newtonian girlfriand, Amy Permano, for the Sims 4.

You might be wondering how something that should be fairly simple and straightforward would take more than a night. Well... there's a lot the tutorials don't mention when making stuff for TS4. Like how you could theoretically make a semi-transparent skin. It just can't be a Skin. The game doesn't allow for transparency there. It's only on clothing. And I can't find a way to invoke it without outright kills a Sim and making them a ghost so... Amy is perfectly solid now. o.o

Also, I never actually planned out what she looks like in her more solid state. I always draw her either in an outfit already or as a fluid mass.

Since I neither know nor want to know if animation on the Skin layer is possible, I figured out where all her darker particulates would rest on her body - effectively giving her neat body and leg tattoos but baked into the Skin file so it's there by default. Since it's a selectable thing, I also made it so said skin works throughout the in-game ages and genders. This meant removing her lips, hairstyle and eyebrows but it also means I have separate lips, hair and eyebrow files I can package together so any Sim can rock those styles.

Lastly, to achieve the shiny look I always imagined she'd have in real life (she Is a living mass of liquid), I built a special tinted shiny overlay and set it up as a patch of freckles so it wouldn't interfere with any other items but still work its magic. It tints everything but the eyes the overlay's color so I don't have to build special colored mouths and teeth to replace the horrific looking Sim teeth the game comes with. She looked So Wrong with a normal colored mouth. Like... low-level stuffed animal with human dentures wrong. My mistake with the overlay actually fixed that creepiness right up. = )

That's pretty much it for now. I've got some Skittles to snack on and some MTN DEW (Text the Dew!!) Merry Mash-up Cran-Pomegranate soda to drink.

And a comic to finish... right after I adjust the green on this base layer to not look so nuclear.

'Till next time! = )
