Getting in the Spirit!

Email Me Prophet on Twitter Prophet on Bluesky -
Halloween is this Thursday! = D

To get folks in the mood, here's a list of some Halloween-related videos I've been watching while I've been drawing these past few strips:

- Familiar Faces: Top 13 Weirdest Halloween Specials (Part 1 & Part 2)

CR! counts does a Top 13 countdown of a bunch of Halloween specials not even I've seen before. Seriously. I think only like two or three of them I even recognized. o.o

- Bunnicula, the Vampire Rabbit

About as loosely based on the books as one could get, it's a nice little Ruby-Spears produced cartoon. Family finds a bunny in a box with a note written in Romanian stating that the critters name is "Bunnicula". Hilarity ensues in a style similar to the Scooby 'toons of the time. Not the greatest but a fun watch all the same.

- Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hallow

Originally released in theaters in 1949, "The Legend of Sleepy Hallow" was the second show in the Disney's double-header 11th animated film - The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. I actually got lucky this time around and found just the Sleepy Hallow part (which was a pain as most clips I found was either the Johnny Depp film or the new FOX show). Always a fun watch. Plus, you can't beat the narration by the classic crooner Bing Crosby.

- Vincent

The fantastic Vincent Price narrated Tim Burton short from back during his Disney days. I have this (and the original Frankenweenie short) as extras on a collector's edition VHS of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'. Always fun to watch the story of a boy named Vincent Malloy pretend to be Vincent Price as told by the man himself. = )

That's all for Halloween goodness for now. I have to get back to the Halloween poster for this year (and finish setting things up for later). That strip will go up a day late, on the holiday itself. I'll pop up a widget reminding folks about the Midnight Movie Marathon (Which is on November 2nd) later today.

'Till next time! = D
