Right Stuf Anime is currently having a birthday sale and after Years of having an account there (and I do mean Years), I finally had the cash and the prices were right. So I popped for some stuff. = )
I am now the happy owner of the full Eureka Seven series. It was super cheap and it's one of those rare mech series that I really like that isn't effectively a space opera or space opera adjacent. I was one of those folks who caught back on [adult swim] when they were still effectively doing Toonami: Midnight Run but not calling it that. It's a visually clean series. As in it's super slick with solid mecha and creature designs. The story is pretty good, too.
The other thing I picked up for a fantastic price was Patlabor. Not the OVAs or the films or just the TV show... Everything. The Whole Dang Thing. Now... the best way I describe Patlabor to folks who might not know of it is it's a sometimes goofy anime cop show with large humanoid mechs instead of tanks or Tachikoma. It's a fun old series with some surprisingly serious (and varied) films. It's good stuff and I'm really happy to have it all since it's a pain to find anywhere anymore.
As for the strip... this next one is the last of this story bit. Then I drop out for a (hopefully short) while to work on the next one. I've got some interesting art stuff I want to tackle on it and it's not stuff I can easily wing. It also builds back that mythical "Buffer" I had so long ago. I got a taste of not working week-to-week and I want it back again. o.O
Anyhoo! I'm off to grab some ice cream and watch Space Jam 2 'cause I've heard it's both fantastically bad and yet pretty average for a kid's film banking on nostalgia. That's right up my alley.
Remember: Stay Safe. Wear a Mask. Get vaccinated if you can.
'Till next time! = )
