Non-Biff Stuff?! o.o

Email Me Prophet on Twitter Prophet on Bluesky -
Inbetween drawing the comics, I've been working on some non-Biff stuff.

This past week, I took the opportunity to spark a broadcast - something I haven't successfully done in quite some time. Instead of the usual inks or playing games, I busted out one of my new model kits and set to work.

I mean... I gotta' A LOT of kits that need building. And I'd been waiting since November to get my hands on these. = )

I'll link the archived stream once I make a proper thumbnail for it but here's a write-up for my SDCS RX-78-2 Gundam (Gundam Base Colors) over on my Build Blog. Check it! -> [Gunpla LinkTastic!]

Updating that blog also has me going through and regularly updating the code. Links that need fixing, small tweaks to the design that need doing 'cause I'm not just using Tumblr's internal tags but also figuring out how to bend Flex code stuff to my will.

This has me thinking about the code I use here and how it's still in desperate need of a proper update.

The base code - the stuff that runs the place - is absolutely ancient. It was old when I got my hands on it. The second version of it was good but died out quickly and would probably still need to be swapped out right about now. I Did have a CMS that I wanted to use but... well, Grawlix was unfortunately abandoned due to the same reasons as webcomicConfig v.2: A lack of funds. -.-

I'm still on the lookout for a CMS that would both work here on the server I'm on and isn't WordPress. My search has lead to maybe one or two more options but they are... Let's just say I'd have to resort to a template that's out of my control. Not the greatest for me but something I'm willing to relinquish if it worked properly.

Any suggestions would be Greatly appreciated.

So that's about it on this side of the system. Inks on the strip currently on the table are coming along just fine. You'll see those after this next update. The writing I want to do... not so much but I have plenty of scripts to work off of. They're just kinda' beefy like this current Story Bit.

New strip drops this Sunday!

Website Updates?! o.O

Email Me Prophet on Twitter Prophet on Bluesky -
After FAR Too long... I've Finally gone through and cleaned up some stuff on the site. = )

First, the Basics:

- The date has been updated to 2023 on the various pages where it's found.

- I've finally got around to adding in the Comicad Network tower ad to a few pages. Think of it as the spiritual successor to Project Wonderful.

- I finally changed the embedded Twitter timeline over to the SillyVamp one (for as long as that Hellish Birdsite remains a Thing). Follow for updates on the comic sprinkled inbetween a Ton of retweets of other folks' comics. It's effectively what I'm reading at any given time.

Now for the biggest update... I cleaned up the Links page. = )

If you swing past, you'll find a few old links are missing. Others have simply changed places. For as long as I've had this site, I've kept a gaggle of comics linked not just for other folks but because it was a large look at what I was reading at the time. It's been Years since I was last able to read so many comics on any given update day but I kept the list all the same.

The downside of having such an old and massive link list is I ran past many that were simply gone. Either they were dead links, were currently being squatted or were changed to very nice looking portfolio sites for the artists that used to make them. The ones that hurt the most were comics that died not because they were finished or the folks behind it left... It was the one that got nuked thanks to the place hosting them making a change in their product and axing a bunch of folks' entire creative output.

One the Plus Side, I did get to see what the people behind some of my old fave comics are up to nowadays. Many of them continued on to other Art stuff. One was a wildlife painter, another was doing design and adverts... All were doing really well for themselves and it was cool to see.

Sure, they don't have archives to something they did that I just happened to like but that's to be expected. It's feels good knowing they're still being awesome and doing the Art thing. = )

Now I'm off to do all that fun Post-Update stuff. Next strip drops on Feb 12th. I'll try to post something before then (I've got some non-Biff things coming later in the week).

'Till next time! = )
