I recently got an invite to Bluesky - Jack's Mastodon Clone - and I have to admit that it's not too shabby. It's leagues better than whatever the Not-So-Paper Rich Dip is doing with the remains of Twitter. And, unlike the other contenders out there that I've also been on for a bit, it's relatively active in more than just odd spurts.

It's a Masto Clone done right. = )

Since I've been there Just long enough to start getting invites to send out, I used my first one to set up a SillyVamp account. It was a plan that I'd had brewing for a couple of these places for a bit now but - aside from the thing its tech is similar to - it's super easy to pull this off. The advantage of having a bunch of work done by (ex)Birdsite folks.

As for that little bit at the top...

Just as I was prepping to spin this place back up again for posting, I ran into a really strange error. For some reason, I wasn't able to add titles for comics. Mind you, I never really touched that particular aspect of the site's code. I Really Need to but I hadn't yet. It was still - for better or worse - the same code I'd been successfully running since the start.

It's PHP 101 stuff so I never had to do anything save for a small tweak that'd been running fine for months. This tiny bit of code that was stable and effectively golden decided to just... not work this week.

After a few nights of fighting with it both live and on my test server, it seemed to fix itself. I assume I accidentally flipped something from "Magic" to "More Magic" and just didn't notice 'till it failed.

It should (in theory) be working again.

Now I'm off to get up, stretch and do something else. It's currently muggy again here at the House of Amill so drawing strips is out of the question 'till things dry out a bit. That doesn't mean I'm not without stuff that needs doing, though! I'm going to put a little more time into the updated Biff site I've been working on between bouts of fighting with the PHP that runs this place. = )
