Before I get into anything, I have a bit of news for the beginning of next year. TinyLetter - the newsletter service I've been using for a bit now - is going away. It's a MailChimp project and they decided to shelve it come February. Instead of dealing with at when it happens, I'm just going to sign up for a proper MC account and switch stuff over.
What does that mean for the newsletter and the handful of folks who get it? Nothing if I do things right. I'll be moving things over later tonight or tomorrow so I have a start. I'll redo the little newsletter signup box to sign up for that one. The one thing I'm worried about is if I'll have to make a new newsletter doc (The actual thing folks get in their inbox when I send stuff out). That'd be annoying but something I'll have to whip up quick.
Anyhoo! On to the current "News" part of things. = )
Like an unimaginable creature from beyond time and space (or a kitten), the Holiday Season is Upon Us!
Along with some basic buffer building, I spent some quality time finishing off the last two Drawlloween books: Drawlloween 2022 and 2023. You can find them over on my Ko-Fi Shop page. -> https://ko-fi.com/propheteka/shop
I'll add them to the Store page here in a bit. For now, just check out that link above and enjoy. = )
In my time away, I only got three strips in the can. This was three less than I wanted but three more than I had so I'll take the Win. I had other things that needed doing so I got those done instead of trying to pump out as many comics as possible. The downtime lead to some interesting things like writing up the bones of a story and simply getting my clothes folded and put away.
Yes, things were That Bad. = D
I keep seeing this bit about humans - Artists in particular - need time to be bored. Time away from work. Time away games. Time away from the rat race that is Being Online. We need that boredom to reset ourselves. An example was that boredom is why we get ideas in the shower or as we're about to fall asleep. Our mind's on autopilot. It doesn't need to work but that approx. three and a half pounds of nervous fat in our meat mech will do it anyway.
Might as well take advantage of that and let myself be bored for a bit. What happened this time around? I got a great idea for a possible one-off comic based on a random pic I'd been picking at throughout the year. Not Biff-related but also not a bad thing to get out and down into a fixed form.
Now I'm off to eat, stretch and maybe load that one up to my Patreon. I've got a bunch of ideas like that. Projects I'm probably never going to get to or things I'd like to simply have out and down somewhere. I'm thinking of uploading them there as a nice little gift for Patrons.
By the by... I (still) have a Patreon! Join if you want. It still starts at a dollar and there's a strong possibility of sets of Biff Books coming to the little shop thingie they got now sometime around the New Year. Cash in helps keep the lights on. = )
Remember: Stay Safe. Wear a Mask if you need to. Get vaccinated if you can. Get a booster if you're already good on all that. And remember to keep your head up.
'Till next time! = )
